Lily Beans Collar & Leash Care Guide

BioThane® Collars & Leashes

Waterproof. Odor-resistant. Mold-free. Easy to clean.

To keep your gear looking its best:

  • ✔ Wipe down with a damp cloth or rinse with mild soap and water.
  • ✔ Air-dry after cleaning.
  • ✔ Rinse thoroughly after heavy outdoor use or exposure to saltwater.
  • ✖ Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbing tools.

Regular care helps extend the life of your collar or leash!

Hardware Care (Brass, Stainless Steel, Black, Nickel)

  • Brass: Will naturally develop a patina over time. Polish with brass cleaner to restore shine if desired.
  • Stainless Steel: Great for frequent water use. Minimal care needed.
  • Nickel & Black Coated: Wipe dry after exposure to water to help prevent wear and rust.
  • Chicago Screws: We use Chicago screws on certain products for a clean, secure finish. The screws are set with Loctite to help keep them in place, but with regular wear, they can loosen over time. If you notice one coming loose, give it a quick tighten, and you’re good to go.

For all hardware types, avoid long exposure to moisture when not in use.

If you ever experience an issue with your gear hardware, please don't hesitate to reach out — we’ll make it right.

Warnings & Best Practices

  • ⚠️ Solid brass hardware may leave light discoloration on light-colored fur. If that’s a concern, opt for stainless steel, nickel, or black hardware.
  • ⚠️ Avoid prolonged contact with flea/tick collars or topical treatments — chemicals can break down the BioThane® coating. If possible, apply treatments away from collar contact.
  • ⚠️ BioThane® is tough, durable, adventure & splash ready — but it’s not chew-proof. So, listen up, pups… stick to chewing your toys, not your gear! 🐶🐾
