Lily Beans Collar & Leash Care Guide
BioThane® Collars & Leashes
Waterproof. Odor-resistant. Mold-free. Easy to clean.
To keep your gear looking its best:
- ✔ Wipe down with a damp cloth or rinse with mild soap and water.
- ✔ Air-dry after cleaning.
- ✔ Rinse thoroughly after heavy outdoor use or exposure to saltwater.
- ✖ Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbing tools.
Regular care helps extend the life of your collar or leash!
Hardware Care (Brass, Stainless Steel, Black, Nickel)
- Brass: Naturally develops a patina over time. Use brass polish if you prefer a brighter shine.
- Stainless Steel: Ideal for frequent water exposure with minimal upkeep.
- Nickel & Black Coated: Wipe dry after water exposure to help prevent wear and rust.
-
Chicago Screws: We use Chicago screws on select products for a clean, secure finish. Each screw is set with a thread locker for extra hold — but since pups live their best adventure life, it’s always a good idea to give your gear a quick check now and then to make sure everything stays secure.
- Black Chicago screws have a powder-coat finish rather than a plating, and can show wear over time.
For all hardware types, avoid long-term exposure to moisture when not in use.

Warnings & Best Practices
- ⚠️ Solid brass hardware may leave light discoloration on light-colored fur. If that’s a concern, choose stainless steel, nickel, or black hardware.
- ⚠️ Avoid prolonged contact with flea/tick collars or topical treatments — chemicals can break down the BioThane® coating.
- ⚠️ BioThane® is durable and adventure-ready — but not chew-proof. Encourage pups to chew toys, not gear! 🐶🐾
